It’s been a month since the last Ikebana lesson as I went back to Japan for the first 2 weeks in November. We practiced how to make a form with the materials which are flexible today. Italian Ruscus is one of the flexible plantes to bend them easily.
We practiced one of the ikebana forms with various leaves such as Pandanus, Dracena et Asplenium. The participants realized that it was more complicated to underline the beauty of leaves than that of branches as the leaves are more flat in general. Then, they tried well to compose them in the three dimensions.
I organized the tea ceremony outside last Sunday. We appreciated the atmosphere in autumn with breeze under the clear sky. Thank you very much for coming feel the pleasant afternoon with me!

We practiced Ikebana with flowers of gladiolus today. The participants fixed well the flowers although the gladiolus are heavy and tall.
